Albert Park is a suburb of Melbourne. This village, which has 58 329 inhabitants (2001) is located 2 kilometers south of Melbourne. It owes its name to Prince Albert, husband of Queen Victoria. Two parks and a lake to give the suburb a certain cachet.

Albert Park is famous in the world of sport. Cricket grounds of "St Kilda Cricket Club" and "South Melbourne Cricket Club, tennis courts with a Davis Cup final (1908) disputed here, stadiums rugby, Australian football, and of course the Great Prix Australian Formula 1 which is held since 1996 on the circuit at Albert Park.
