Grandmaster Flash
Joseph Saddler or Grandmaster Flash is a musician regarded as a pioneer of Rap, Hip-Hop, Scratch and remix. He is the inventor of certain techniques like cutting. Always inventive, the DJ uses his feet and his toes to scratch.

Biography
Joseph was born on 1 January 1958 in Barbados, but grew up in New York in the area of the Bronx.

His speed and dexterity are at the origin of his nickname Flash (Flash Gordon), as well as its ability to change discs with the feet, hands behind their backs earned him the title of Grandmaster.

He had acquired the dexterity noting that another DJ, Kool Herk, often at the wrong time to move a disk. So he decided to learn the techniques of disco DJs, including the fact listening to the disc that we are preparing to move with earphones.

Grandmaster Flash was often more busy changing his records to encourage the audience to dance as did the other DJs of Block Parties. So he decided to ask friends to do it in his place. Soon, they had enough to do anything other than to encourage the public and decided to tell other topics as life in the ghetto.

In addition, Grandmaster Flash is the one who has perfected the scratch.

Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five
He formed his own band in the late 70 composed of Cowboy (Keith Wiggins) Melle Mel (Melvin Glover) - who despite his nickname is a man - and Kid Creole (Nathaniel Glover). Two other MC arrive in the future, Rahiem (Guy Todd Williams - who was a member of the Funky 4 +1) and Scorpio (Eddie Morris) to form Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five. They won a gold disc with Freedom after signing on Sugarhill Records in 1980.

In 1980, Blondie, "Rapture," sings "Flash is fast, Flash is cool."

In 1981, he released: "The Adventures of Grandmaster Flash and the Wheels of Steel".

Their biggest hit was The Message in 1982, which became platinum in less than a month.

Grandmaster leaving Sugar Hill Records in 1983 and the group will be more or less disbanded in 1984.

Back solo
In 1998, he made his return with Flash is Back, well appointed. The same year, he played for the Super Bowl. It also happens to Tony Blair and the Queen of England.
