Yves Saint Laurent
Yves Saint Laurent (1 August 1936, Oran, Algeria - June 1, 2008, Paris) is a great couturier french. He led the fashion house that bears his name during 41 years from 1961 to 2002. Known for having popularized the black jacket, the look of beatniks 1960's, Sahara, caban, as well as tweed suits, tailor-pants, trousers at the waist high, smokings for women and waders, his haute couture collections are renowned in the world.
Biography
Yves Henri Donat Mathieu-Saint Laurent was born on 1 August 1936 in Oran in Algeria, where he spent his youth. In 1954, at age 18, he moved to Paris where he took drawing lessons at the Chambre Syndicale de la Haute Couture for three months.

Tom Ford succeeded him as head of the house Yves Saint Laurent, Stefano Pilati and then from 2004.
Yves Saint Laurent created with his companion Pierre Bergé the Fondation Pierre Bergé Yves Saint Laurent at 5 avenue Marceau, in the 16th arrondissement of Paris. It is a foundation of sponsorship and management of a museum collection exceptional 5 000 clothing and 15 000 objects, which traces the history of haute couture house of Yves Saint Laurent.
He died on the night of 1 to 2 June 2008, as a result of brain cancer at age 71.
